I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So this assembly involves you telling an anecdote about a recent event, as well as asking for volunteers to perform a school scenario. Children are encouraged to use these stories to think of small sacrifices they can make for others in their own lives. This is then linked to Jesus’s sacrifice on Good Friday. There is a lot of opportunity for children to think about their own experiences and to feedback. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with.
